The notion of what is a "fast" or "slow" player is relative and highly subjective. Someone may believe they're fast, based on the group of people they play with, but this speed determination isn't always accurate when compared to other players. So, attempting to label players or tables as "fast" or "slow" can lead to frustration.

To avoid this subjectivity, we calculate 2 factors:

  • Charleston Think Time. This is the average time a player takes to make decisions during the Charleston (including the decision to continue/stop the Charleston and how many tiles to pass in the Courtesy Pass)
  • Game Think Time. This is the average time a player takes to discard a tile when it's their turn and call/ignore a discard when it's not their turn

These values are then used to match players based on their average speed.
