We have lots of resources to help players who are new to American Mah Jongg:
The first place to start is our Beginner's Guide. It covers all the basics of the game.
You may also like to download/print our Cheat Sheet and keep it handy while you play or do exercises. It's a one-pager with a summary of the key concepts/rules.
Another good resource to learn the basics is Debbie Barnett's Beginner's Series on YouTube
Once you've mastered the basics and are ready to up your game, take a look at our Strategy Guide
Check out the Exercise Room, on the Game Launchpad. This is a set of exercises to help practice the basics and learn the card faster (more info can be found here).
Another useful tool is our "Practice Mode" (select "Enable Practice Mode" under "Just-for-fun" bots game, on the game launchpad) . This mode will give you suggestions on what hand to play, will help you better track discards and figure out what hands the bots may be working towards. For more information on the practice mode, check out this page.
