The I LOVE MAHJ platform is designed to be completely fair to all players, whether they are human or bots. No one - player or bot - receives any special treatment.
It’s not uncommon for players to feel like they’re not getting enough jokers (this is something we hear both from online and in-person players). But let’s break this down:
- When playing with three bots, collectively, they should statistically receive about three times more jokers than you, simply because there are three of them and one of you at the table.
- The same would apply if you were playing with three other people - they would also receive their share of jokers.
- Additionally, players tend to focus on games where they didn’t receive jokers and forget about those where they got 5 or more!
Here’s a bit of math: If all tiles were played in a game, each player would expect to receive around 2 jokers. However, since games usually end before all tiles are played (about 80% of the way through), players can expect to receive closer to 1.6 jokers on average per game.
To make it easier to track your performance, we’ve included an average count of jokers received and swapped in your stats page. You can find more information about that here.
